services
First of all, thank you for your interest in my services. I sincerely appreciate your time and attention. My passion is for video game audio, but I am versed in many aspects of audio and love them all equally. The following is a list of services that I offer.
Video Game Audio
- Music composition: I want to create an exciting and interactive soundtrack for your game. I pay close attention to the setting and style of the game to ensure that your soundtrack is compelling and relevant. I can give you wavs, .mp3s, .oggs, or any format that you want. I am also versed in module tracking, which means I can create high quality .IT and .XM files as well. For examples, please see my Media page on this website.
- Sound design: My methods combine field recordings, Foley, and sound synthesis with personal and commercial sound effect libraries to create top notch sound effects for your games. I also have experience recording voice over actors. I will also help integrate the sounds into the game to make sure that they fit properly, are timed correctly, and make an impact on the player. My software training includes Wwise, Pro Tools 7.2, Logic Pro, Waves, Sound Forge, Ableton Live, Sony Vegas, Reaktor 5, and much more. For examples, please see my Media page on this website.
Studio Audio Engineering
- Editing: I love to slice, dice and transmogrify audio in oh-so-many ways. I have a solid understanding of compressors/limiters, gates/expanders, equalization, filters, and just about any time based processor you could throw at my head. I am a huge fan of reading the manual and have benefited thusly. I can slice up your beats for you, make your vocals sound how you want them to, crunch up your guitar riffs, your wish is my command.
- Mixing: I have mixed in both the analog and the digital domains. I am trained in Flying Faders and Recall software as well as the software mentioned above. I understand synchronization and can make sure that your DAT or 2 inch tape flies into Pro Tools correctly. I am nimble with a fader as well as a mouse and will happily rock the automation on your track.
- Analog tracking: I have hands-on experience with SSL, Neve, Neotek, Allen & Heath, Yamaha, Tascam and Machie consoles. I have worked with real-time CD recorders, HD recorders, and Otari and Studer tape machines. I have also used too many pieces of outboard gear to list here. I have a strong understanding of microphones and how to place them, choose the right polar patterns, and reduce phase. I understand console signal flow and how to operate a patch bay.
- Digital tracking: My strong suit is computers, and I absolutely love to record into programs like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Sony Vegas, Ableton Live, you name it, I have probably enjoyed recording into it. I will man your Pro Tools rig while you focus on making hits! I have a solid understanding of DSP, including Waves plug-ins.
- Beats / Music Production: Need something for your music? Maybe you want an orchestral section during your chorus. Maybe you need that gritty IDM beat behind your vocal. Come to think of it, a Hammond riff might be just what that verse needs. I make an absurd amount of music and am always interested in opportunities to work with other musicians. See my Media page on this website for examples of my music.
Writing and Editorial
- Creative Writing: Need help with the content of your video game? Is the dialog not sharp enough, the quest a little drab, or the joke falling flat? I have extensive experience in creative writing. I have written for several publications, including editorial content for 944 Magazine, and I currently writing a graphic novel called Violet, which is featured in Racket Magazine. I specialize in the dark, the mysterious, and the magical. I've also created quests and implemented story lines for video games, including Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku. I keep superb notes and enjoy crafting a complicated puzzle.
My pre-production and documentation is always thorough. Always!
